OpenClaw (aka Clawdbot or Moltbot) represents a new frontier in agentic AI: powerful, highly autonomous, and surprisingly easy to use.
In this research, we examine how its capabilities compare to its predecessors’ and highlight the security implications that organizations need to understand as these tools proliferate.
The gap between “chatbot” and “agent” isn’t incremental — it’s categorical. When an AI system can execute code, manage files, connect to APIs, and make decisions without human approval for each action, the threat model changes fundamentally. Traditional AI safety frameworks built for conversational AI don’t adequately address systems that do things in the real world.
